Well.

I have just introduced my father to TVTropes, partly because he demanded to know what was making me laugh so hard. (For the record, it was, in order, Medium Awareness, Painting the Fourth Wall, Wait What?, and Big Lipped Alligator Moment; the last of which I can't even say out loud without giggling.) I have this vague urge to apologize for it. But. The robots have put me in such a good mood, I can't quite bring myself to do it.

For the most part, I'm not all that happy about business trips, although I've learned to live with them.

But one that brings my mother right out here, and gives her enough time to visit?

Hell yeah.

Well.

It seems that history course [livejournal.com profile] kodalai was so interested in, the one on Alchemy +, is another one of those. That is, I get hit again with book-intensive class. The Philosophy one seems to be that also, but at least it's only two and not three like last semester. AlMagSci and Japanese filled two bags of books, and made my shoulders knot so fast they hurt.

But I'm content. After all, it's only here that you would find the exchange I ran across coming back:

"I couldn't see you guys, so I had to recognise you by your walks."
"You recognised my Neanderthal gait?"

Gods, I love this place.

My hair is dead. This is signified by the lovely deep red it is now, rather close to manga!Farfarello's in color, if not in style. Tomorrow morning we add the streaks, because hey, why not? I got the stuff, and no one else is going to use it.

I had been expecting the red to come out much darker, much browner. That's how it did on my colorist's (nee best friend / sister) hair. But mine takes so well to dye, and has already several past jobs on it, that it came out quite rich. Apparently the back part, where all the individual hairs stick out in an attempt to avoid each other (a result of washing my hair by far too often - it gets almost staticky) is darker than most, and almost velvety. As I have seen bright red velvet, it doesn't help me picture it very well, but maybe a slightly orangy marroon? Or a raspberry.

Back to my original point. The reason why my hair is dead is because said colorist (an amateur) killed it. And it is red. So was the water in the tub when we washed out the gook, which led me to tell her that she had killed someone. And then her hand was stained red, which, I believe, was what led me to tell her that had killed my hair. But the reason I'm telling you all this is because she, and I quote, "died" it.

Spelling is a very important thing. It's much like vegetables: they keep you from death when all else fails.

In my excitement over the new toilet paper, I knocked it clear across the room.

For some reason I find this hilarious.
