My hair is dead. This is signified by the lovely deep red it is now, rather close to manga!Farfarello's in color, if not in style. Tomorrow morning we add the streaks, because hey, why not? I got the stuff, and no one else is going to use it.

I had been expecting the red to come out much darker, much browner. That's how it did on my colorist's (nee best friend / sister) hair. But mine takes so well to dye, and has already several past jobs on it, that it came out quite rich. Apparently the back part, where all the individual hairs stick out in an attempt to avoid each other (a result of washing my hair by far too often - it gets almost staticky) is darker than most, and almost velvety. As I have seen bright red velvet, it doesn't help me picture it very well, but maybe a slightly orangy marroon? Or a raspberry.

Back to my original point. The reason why my hair is dead is because said colorist (an amateur) killed it. And it is red. So was the water in the tub when we washed out the gook, which led me to tell her that she had killed someone. And then her hand was stained red, which, I believe, was what led me to tell her that had killed my hair. But the reason I'm telling you all this is because she, and I quote, "died" it.

Spelling is a very important thing. It's much like vegetables: they keep you from death when all else fails.

It occurs to me that, while [livejournal.com profile] rabidfarfgirl would not be at all offended by any of this, beyond swatting at me and saying HEY! (or maybe, hay) others might be offended on her behalf. Don't be. I've been teasing her about her spelling for well on six years now, and if there'd been anything the matter, I would have stopped long ago.
