Man, how have we gotten this to work again? There was something about... a disc protractor? I'm not sure I understand. I'm still new at all this, and the jargon just isn't seeping into my brain - something against osmosis, that. Still, somehow it's working, and I seem to actually be coherent. Yay!

Speaking of coherency, the Outer Lunerian Society is trying to insist that these symbols we're getting from the sun out by Empthis Major is a sign of life. Intelligent life. I say, those symbols are even less coherent than I am before my nightly quistis injection. They couldn't possibly have any meaning. Of course, I am still new at working thought processors, but the fact that there's actually sentences appearing here means something, namely: that I am a lot more coherent than the symbols from that sun, and since I haven't had my injection yet, I stand confirmed.

But then the OLS has never been all that sane to begin with. I mean, who ever heard of calling plants and animals life, but not dylanthetamine?

Wah.

So it all got sorted out. And we're all on the same floor now, which is yay. Sure, we're split by Italian, but we can form a coallition thing. Or just convert them, whichever works.

And now I'm very happy because I get to keep my current room.

Ah, if only I could just keep everything in it, lock the door and keep the key over summer. That would be nice.

It's the last day of the month, and for some reason I feel the need to point out this fact, even though everyone should know that already. I guess... Eh, well, April 1 is important to me too, even without the whole April Fool's day bit. It's the day I was supposed to be born, which gives me (at least, according to me) immunity to the jokes.

And last night, while thinking about how to get back from the dance competition (which went wonderfully! yay!) I realized yet again that stillettos are good for a lot more than just being tall and occasionally wobbly.

And now it's time for class.

(and we need an icon for "poing")

I remain stubbornly mysterious about my birthday because (I said) I don't want to get thrown in the fountain. That's really a load of bollocks: I love surprises is the real thing, although anyone who'd really wanted to know and could read Japanese could have gone to the lounge and seen it there, up on the wall like it's been all year.

In any case, this is my birth day, hour, and minute - officially. According to mine father, it was really 7:14, but I'm not going to quibble. I'm not expecting to get anything other than amusement as I watch people try to catch the bouncy balls I intend to throw at them. A brat? Moi? But of course; it's my birthday, so if I want to act half my age, then I'm allowed.

Although I don't think I threw little bouncy balls at people when I was nine, either. Hmmm, yes, that's right: around about that time (September 29th, 1995) I was preparing for and not exactly looking forward to moving to England.

But, assuming I remember the bag, I'm still going to throw little bouncy balls at people.

So. Happy Easter, everyone that celebrates it. No chocolates this time, since I nearly ran out of money getting my parents into the dining hall while they were here. Well... chocolate for me, maybe.

And, um, [livejournal.com profile] mhikaru? Yes, that was a confession, or about as close as you're going to get.

My hip got angry, and we got lost looking for Marukai and the bookstore, but altogether very FUN. I have a new, amaizingly compact, set of 1000 sheets of paper, and I'm actually thinking of starting over from scratch (they really were too big before) and another set of really very tiny sheets which are for [livejournal.com profile] linadarkstar, whenever you feel like coming over to pick it up. Not the smallest you've worked with, but I saw it and thought of you, so there. We spent pretty much the whole day there, and Dad got old calendars and I got a lovelysoft sweater, and then we went to Kenka's and marvelled and ran (or walked, or dashed, whatever) through the rain as soon as it let up.

And after dinner we sat around and got bored, and now I'm by myself again, but that's really fine. This break has been loads better than last year.

mmmm ♥

So. Someone in my hall is giving out chocolate. This is the second time it's happened, and it looks much nicer than brown paper bags (which is what they did before) but they're not telling us who they are.

Admittedly, I see the point. I mean, why be anonymous if you're just going to admit to it the first time someone asks? Eh, whatever. It's chocolate, and it's got a pretty covering with 大好きよ on it, so I'm content. And mints.

I think I'm going to put the cover up on my door or wall or something. It's really very pretty.

It's a new year. It doesn't feel like it, except that I can stomach champagne better than last time. I still don't like it, though.

At this point, I begin to look forward to two things: the return to Pomona, and the coming of the next birthday I'll bake for. And then there's my birthday too: technically less than a quarter of a year before I turn nineteen, even if only for a few days. I'm kind of surprised, actually, because my eighteenth birthday I didn't appreciate at all - that was mostly because I didn't want to get dumped into the fountain, and so there was no real celebration because I hadn't told anyone. At this point my pessimistic side wants to doubt whether there'd be any even if I had, but I'm determined not to fall into the dumps right now.

I've had more alcohol tonight than I have had at any one time since I was three (which was about half a bottle of beer): a sip of cider, and three swallows of champagne. In all the times between, it's only been a single sip, or just a splash - and liquer doesn't count, because for one, I have no idea how much that was, and for another, it was always part of a desert. So there. I can understand why some people like it, since I don't dislike it, but I still don't get why anyone would try to get drunk on something they don't like, or do shots when they know it will make them choke and cough. It really doesn't make sense: if you want to get drunk, do it on stuff that tastes good. Really.

Hopefully this time next year I'll be in Japan. We'll see.

I hadn't expected to get much from my family: the big present was, after all, a very nice scanner that I'd recieved some months before. I am therefore very happy to get chocolate, music, a calendar, and a book. I am now (supposedly) furnished with patterns and instructions to make most types of traditional Japanese clothing (which I will alter and fiddle with as necessary) and Farfgirl! You got me Gluhen! *LUFF LUFF* I love the one line on the back of disc 3. "They don't hunt the darkness, they are the darkness." Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Gramma comes soon, and then we'll SIT DOWN and TALK and then EAT and all will be REALLY REALLY GREAT.

And then I'll get back to the serious business of completing presents for everyone at school. With BEADS.
