How easy is it to forget someone when you're going on a minor expedition, and the last time you saw them was maybe half an hour before, when they asked you to get them upon leaving?

Apparently, very easy. I went anyway, and looked for them; I didn't see them, so I may be wrong. Still, the old doubts surface again, and I can't shake fear that the problem somehow lies with me.
