An unpleasant fact about college: if you don't have a fridge (with drinks in it) and the vending machine eats your money, you have to go all the way up to Smith (three blocks away for me) to get rid of the stomach-acid taste in your mouth.
Yeah, I did something between vomitting and having dry heaves today. I hadn't eaten, so all that came up was this unpleasant yellow liquidy stuff. Then I went with the people who hadn't gone to eat already and ordered something that would be gentle to my stomach and came with a drink I'd get right away.
Turns out that they had a humus and pita sandwich on special. I got that, fries, and a coke. Afterwards, I felt so much better that I tagged along to the inauguration celebrations and wound up dancing the night away. Approximately 7500 of the steps I took today I took at that dance. Salsa dancing, man - you gotta love it. I know how to, now, too! A fellow sponsee of Joanna's (from last year) taught me. Much much fun. Still, I'm skipping the drinking and wrestling tonight and hopefully getting to bed early so I don't have a relapse of any sort tomorrow. Bleah.
Oh yeah, the other unpleasant thing about colleges? When you have to vomit, you go into the bathroom, right? But our bathroom has something like a fire door, and even though everyone was right outside, they couldn't hear me, and it's a fairly large space, so I couldn't risk going to them and asking for help. Also not pleasant.
Maybe this has something to do with stress? Certainly, though, if I have problems doing everything I have to tomorrow, I can point out that I was sick during most of the day today. It might not be an excuse, but it's a reason.
