Yep. A meme. Yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] murasaki_kaze:

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick three of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!

This is so [livejournal.com profile] chibirisuchan's fault. And [livejournal.com profile] ciceqi. Coyo made mascotverse and it's her Aeris that makes the caramel-apple-walnut-crumble pie thing, but it was Risu who wrote Reno vandalizing Rufus' office with cherry pie filling. Same 'verse, so I guess you could say that this is my icon in recognition of it. I'm not entirely happy with it, but honestly, do you have any idea how hard it is to find a picture of pre-game Sephiroth being open and happy and bouncy-gleeful? Because the idea was that he'd have all his psychoses and batshit!insane tendencies cured by the power of homemade pie. Such a picture does not exist. (Please, feel free to prove me wrong. Please. I will love you so much if you do.)

... Okay, yeah, I probably should have expected someone to point this one out. Right. It's a cabbage. (Obviously.) But why do I have a cabbage as an icon? Well, that takes some explaining.

So right after I graduated from high school was the first time I dyed my hair. It was actually for a costume, for an anime convention. The costume was Schuldich*; and I loved the red enough to keep it. Anyway. The reason why I dressed up as Schuldich was because, on the way to another convention some time before that, [livejournal.com profile] rabidfarfgirl turned to me just as the setting sun shone through my hair from behind/to the side, and did a double take. We were both pretty heavily into Weiß Kreuz at the time, and apparently my face doesn't always look like itself, so she thought I was Schuldich. For less than half a second, but still.

So she started equating me with Schuldich (hence my dressing up as him), and since that's a long name to pronounce, either as the original German "Schuldig" or as the katakana approximation "Juuredihi", she followed along with a fair amount of fandom in saying Schu instead. Or Schuschu, for extra teasing effect.

Thing is, "chouchou" (n., Fr., same pronunciation) is, um. Hard to translate, for one. But for Liss, who is now my sister, to call me (her) chouchou, would be roughly equivalent to calling me "sweetie-pie," or another pet-name like that. And if you only say it once, you get "chou", which is another endearment when used on a person, but translates otherwise as "cabbage". And since I studied French in high school, that's what I heard.

Hence the cabbage.

This one is actually, technically a Slayers icon, but as you'd have to know the source to know that, I don't worry about it. The source, by the by, is here. Enjoy. (It's the second one, "Bloody Buddy".) And I'm... still fangirling over it, again, even after all this time. Incoherently. (I went back and edited this and I still can't express myself, how sad is that?) I just have so much love for Eugene, and come on, the icon's perfect for all things splodey-in-the-face. Plus it makes me laugh.

... and that's it, really. Except I probably should also give a link to Eugene, so here.
    – Eugene did the picture, as I've mentioned. The extremely minimal color and iconing was done by me.
