sureiI just remembered that I haven't posted since packing up to come home. Whoops.
Well. Christmas was a number of smallish gifts, not very many, to everyone from everyone. I made people jewelry and so did my mother, and we got Dad graph paper (a tradition of ours, since he's impossible to shop for) and other silly things, and then found something he did want, and hadn't yet gotten for himself (which is why he's impossible to shop for - he buys whatever he wants and doesn't save it up) because it's BRAND SPANKING NEW, so we got that for him too, and I gave my mother a pair of very very nice, elegant obis that she's not going to cut up after all but instead hang nicely against the wall. First time I've given her fabric that she didn't turn into a quilt.
And I got a graphics tablet.
Oh my god, did I get a graphics tablet. No, not a cintiq, which is way beyond our reach, but an Intuos. It's not as big as my screen, but that's okay, I don't have room for one of those. This fits nicely in the keyboard drawer, which I never use because I have a laptop. I did have to convince my parents that I was really going to use one, by doing things and fiddling around with my father's (which is as old as my first iPod, one of the 5-gig ones, and therefore relatively ancient) but the graphics tablet has revolutionized my art. I can now do things on the computer that I couldn't do on paper. Wow.
