I can be fairly sure that everyone who's visited my hall recently knows about the screwy lights. I think we'd finally decided that something was busted.

And then they just happen to work perfectly as I came up the stairs just now.

If you combine this with the fact that going to the stairs a few minutes previous had brought about the occasional brilliant flicker that lead to the whole "busted" theory in the first place...

Machines are wonky.
