sureiI can be fairly sure that everyone who's visited my hall recently knows about the screwy lights. I think we'd finally decided that something was busted.
And then they just happen to work perfectly as I came up the stairs just now.
If you combine this with the fact that going to the stairs a few minutes previous had brought about the occasional brilliant flicker that lead to the whole "busted" theory in the first place...
Machines are wonky.

... and yes, the dinner with Mummy-dearest went absolutely wonderful.
