Dude. Blood. What is not great about blood? It moves everything I need around my body~~. It’s also pretty (see interest no. 84). What? No, I’m not a psycho, I swear.

If you know me, you know I go “it’s so cute!” at the strangest things, chibi-cthulhu and zombie hydras included. Actually, I don’t think most baby anythings are cute – except kittens. But the little octopods at the fish counter this moing? Cute, in a cuttlefishy kind of way. Yeah, they’d had their sharp bits removed, so they were kind of floopy, but they were cute. Hint, guys: I also think tentacles are cute. So cuteness is a big plus for me.

Whee, I likies the vedic gods. (Why am I talking like this?) They are so multiple and interactive and schitzo and psycho and mindfucked it’s cute. Yes, cute. Stop cowering over there. Hey, Visnu’s been ten other people/mortals besides himself, and Siva’s got a thousand names and personas (or more) and Parvati has about ten other goddesses she can turn into, besides all those angry village goddesses that keep getting married to Siva. Besides, she got horribly mutilated the last time she died. After she died. How Visnu managed to cut off just her down-there-womanly-bits I’ll never know. That takes skill.

I like to make jewelry. I have a deep appreciation for it. I walk up to people and touch them just to look at their jewelry.

Masks are also fun, whether they’re constructed out of bits of fabric and paper and feathers and plastic and can come off, or out of expressions and assumed habits and aren’t as obvious.

Pretties! Pretty little sparkly things of glass and wood and china that sit on glass shelves and would smash into tiny bits if the cats could get at them. Good thing they (she now… *sigh*) can’t. Every now and then I get to dust them, which gives me an excuse to fondle them, which makes me happy.

Let’s see: blood, and swords, and Japan, and history, and pre-modernity, and, uh, well… the Shinsengumi could be reinterpreted as a bunch of pretty gay boys, yes… But truthfully, also, I got into this when I was researching Perry, and if I could find more sources, I might be interesting in getting into the whys and wheretofores of the various parties, maybe even in a paper. Because let’s face it: conflict like this can make for really good stories.
