word-spell romance

It may have started out as Cloud & Tifa, but by the end, it was definitely Cloud & Kagome, and had been all along. No idea why. It was a game, an RPG fighter game sort of in the style of FF, only when it came time for a person to attack (and it was only ever Cloud & Kagome, no one else +) you had to determine the strength of their attack by the word you spelled from the letters on the bottom of the screen. And it waited until you had a word, like time paused until you were ready. At first I did *click click click (etc.) enter* but then I discovered that you can type the words in, too, and if you do multiple ones, you can strike multiple times at once, and then I discovered that you can also select words that I didn't even know existed by clicking on objects in the room.
But you could see all the enemies on the ground, before you fought them, although sometimes there were two or three fights in a row, and sometimes you had to be careful to edge past this one enemy that wasn't right for the story flow just yet, because somehow it was a game that I'd played before, or watched someone else play, or at least knew what was supposed to happen each time.
And then it started over, only this time wasn't so much a game as a story. And it focussed on Kurama, who'd been there at the start but quickly left. So this time I got to know why he left, and it had something to do with tengu (kestral!tengu) being all over the house--
Aagh! Right. The game was set in this sort of haunted house, and I forget why but they needed to clear it out. Really pretty colors, and with lots of monsters and ghosts and skeletons patrolling the perimeter.
-- and giving extra strength to the demons within. He knew because he was trying to figure out why this giant seed pod on a stalk had grown so quietly before attacking Cloud & Kagome (who were at that time completely different people, and I can sort of remember their looks, but not their names) when he'd gotten the feeling that it was somehow his fault, but he'd only been curious. The tengu had stolen that from him, and used it to grow the pod. It doesn't make much sense now, but it did then.
And later Kagome and Kurama had to leave (which didn't follow the game!story but happened anyway) and after he protected her from some skeleton guards in a manner that involved lying on top of each other, he left because he was getting too interested and she was Cloud's. Or something. Only she had to go back home to the North Country, and the game!story was obliterated.
At which point I woke up and wondered why I hadn't been awoken, since I had an appointment in less than an hour.
Allen says that my dreams are far more complicated and story-like than they should be (as in, it's not normal). *shrug*
