Soo....... yeah. That little bump on my wrist I've mentioned maybe once or twice? The one in line with my thumb that feels like a bone growth and huts like an old bruise? It's a cyst. A ganglion cyst, to be precise. Fortunately, [livejournal.com profile] aerin_pegadrak has a wrist brace for her occasional nerve pinch, and she's letting me borrow it.

Basically, this is something that comes from using my wrist too much. Including typing, but the brace is holding my wrist still so I'm doing it anyway. My speed and accuracy are mostly my fingers, woot. Probably due to piano lessons.

In any case, I can't write, can't draw, can't play harp in this. Other stuff too, but that's what's important to my classes.

I'm considering getting down to the Village tomorrow and buying medical tape and wrapping my wrist, to make a point when I have to take the brace off. It's not like professors are going to actually let me stop writing.

Finally took the plunge and wiped my external. It's nice and happy, with a new icon and a new name. Then i thought, why not? and cleaned out the old pod as well, so that's got a new name too. People who know Japanese, feel free to laugh at my names:

Computer: Fuji
External: Akki
Old Pod: Tsuru
New Pod: La

.... don't ask me about that last.

I'm almost as unrestricted in a wrist brace as not, I just have to move my hand around more, and use my left hand more as well. It's fine, even if I am developing a bruise at the base of my thumb because I keep on forgetting I'm not supposed to try and move that much either. Typing speed is still up.

Once this is over, I'm rewarding myself by drawing my own mood icons.
