hyperventilation

... I just met my first bunch of paramedics.

And my father is being taken to the hospital as I write this.

They just left. So far it seems like it's a false alarm, and that he didn't have a heart attack, but there's his age, and family history (I mean, his father was only five years older than he is when he died of a heart attack), and so they're making sure, just in case.

Which is also why I'm staying behind. I don't know what I can do from here, since I can't drive and don't know how to get to the hospital anyway, and my mother has gone too, but still it feels like what I should do.

Dad isn't frightened, and there wasn't any more pain by the time they arrived, but I think I'm going to be on the couch tonight, by the phone, just in case.

Just in case.

1:00 am: EDIT | Just got a call. It'll take another four hours, but there's no problems, and it's all alright.

Aside from the fact that I only got about two hours of sleep last night, and if I close my eyes I'll fall asleep, things seem to be just fine.

In fact, the way things are progressing, it looks like they're going to absolutely wonderful and incredibly amusing.

Sleep dep makes me high.
