plans to kick ass - almost literally
Apr. 14th, 2005 09:57 pmDid you know a computer can scream?
Yeah. I just wish it were doing that because I was causing it terrible terrible torture, or something, and not just because it's being really annoying. Thank God for earplugs and loud music.
If it doesn't shut up by tomorrow, I'm taking it in to get the drive disconnected. I don't want to replace it or throw it away just yet, because there's still the chance that I will eventually be able to access the stuff on there and get back what I lost - mostly some papers, some pictures, and a couple story ideas.
I'm going to walk in there, start it up, and let them cringe at the sound it makes. Then they won't be looking at me dubiously when I tell them what's going on.
And then there's the chance that the instant I take it in to the Tech Room, it will be all baby-sweet again. In which case, I'll ask for a place to plug in the external, copy everything, and THEN ask them to disconnect it. They ask why? I can't trust this thing any more, and regardless of how it acts outside my room, it gets really annoying inside it, and that's what counts.
And as soon as the stupid papers and projects are done and turned in (two of them, both due pretty soon) I'll update AlMagSci like it's never been updated before. Sorry about the long wait,
kodalai. I got out of the habit when it was just read and discuss and nothing else, but now I've got notes piling up.
