I just finished watching the end bits of [The Adventures of Robinhood] - the 1938 version, the one I grew up with. Susan (who has the movie as part of a membership plan and will have to return it if she wants another one) and I were looking for that one, because it was so great. It really is - the velvet cloak, the sequins on the edge of his clothing, the truly terrible and shiny prints of Maid Marian's clothing, the fact that the quarterstaff (tiny thing, no where near thick enough) that hit three inches from his foot still managed to wound him, the tendency of everyone to put their fists on their hips and go 'ha ha ha' when they laugh... It's so cute!
